Veterinary Surgeons

Colin and Karina Carrall-Wilcocks both qualified from The University of Pretoria, South Africa. Colin holds a General Practice Certificate in Small Animal Medicine and Karina holds the certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Colin has a particular interest in dentistry and Karina in surgery.

When not working, their two children Matthew and Emily, keep them busy. They have a dog, Wilson who enjoys staring out of the window when he’s at the office.

Colin is a keen cyclist and is often undertaking challenges to raise funds for charity.

Helen Sherfield has an interest in internal medicine and emergency medicine. Outside of work Helen enjoys running with Wilma, her spaniel, and being kept busy with family life.

Charlotte Watson has a particular interest in abdominal ultrasonography and internal medicine and has recently achieved a General Practice Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. Outside of work Charlotte enjoys horse riding, walking and gardening.

Jonathan Gilmore is interested in all aspects of veterinary practice but is particularly interested in Dermatology and Anaesthesiology.  Jonathan spends his time outside of work competing in archery and rock climbing.

 

Veterinary Nurses

Theresa Ormrod RVN has been with the practice since 2006 and leads our nursing team. She has a dog, Groucho, two cats, a rabbit and a guinea pig! Theresa has an interest in cat behaviour and has competed further studies in this area.

Izzy Weidmann RVN joined the Stable Close team in September 2021 and has an interest in ultrasonography. Outside of work she represents the Hursley Pony Club and owns two rescue cats, Monty, a tripod, and Matilda.

Emma Willis RVN joined the practice in July 2026.
 

Beth Mapleson-House SVN is currently training to become a Veterinary Nurse. Outside of work, she enjoys long walks with her dog, Carrie, spending time with her cat, Patch and getting into a really good book.

Administrative Staff

Pippa Mcfarling is responsible for all insurance claims.

Liz Cox has a soft spot for Labradors but enjoys meeting and greeting all your pets and giving them a treat or two! She is always happy to help with any enquiries you may have.

Lucy Simson enjoys travelling and spending time with her family, human, canine and equine.​

Lucy Russell joined the team in 2026 and looks forward to meeting you and your pets.
